The most common seabird you would spot at a NZ beach, usually patiently waiting for your leftover hot chips or sandwiches.  The red-billed seagull (Tarapunga) is in serious decline, due to overfishing, the closure of landfills, and predation at their nesting sites.  

This sculpture is made up of hundreds of tiny stitches, made on a sewing machine, and finished by hand embroidery.

It is professionally framed in a white box frame.
