Pohutukawa leaves 3D Thread Sculpture.

Pohutukawa leaves (Metrosideros excelsa) are a beautiful sight throughout the year, where they change into an amazing array of rich colours.  I tried to capture their ever changing colours, and tiny caterpillar holes, with black fungal spots.

Layer upon layer of tiny stitches make up a delicate network of sculptural embroidery.
