Impermanence 3D Thread Sculpture. (Award winning sculpture)!!

Inspired by the structure and texture of leaf veins, this design was based on a vineyard leaf sourced from a winemaker based near my studio.  I tried to capture the impermanence of the leaf itself, showing its rich hues, colour changes, its fragile state with certain levels of disease, rips and holes, but still robust - able to thrive through the harshest of storms and winds that are so common in the West Auckland regions.  Highlighting its jagged beauty, and thick vein systems, this piece shows a significance to the sweet aroma of the pink Pinot, with a nod to its array of pink tones, and its 3 dimensional intensity of sweetness.

Professionally framed using a natural oak boxed frame and high grade glass. This offers ultimate clarity, with reduced reflection, and has 99% UV protection from the sun.

This sculpture placed 1st in the Top 10 artists at the 2024 Auckland Art Show.  It was voted top art work at the people's choice award.
