This Fernbird embroidered brooch is totally handmade with love.

The fernbird is an endemic bird of New Zealand, uncommon to see, usually hiding in the wetlands particularly around alpine areas.  I have been lucky to photograph these secretive birds, whilst out hiking around Mount Ruapehu forests.

Each brooch is stitched completely by hand, using specialised techniques.  Every brooch is a unique design, and I only make one of each bird.

It is light weight, attached with a brooch pin on the back.

Handmade in New Zealand.
