These pieces are my sculptural embroidery versions of many species of lichen, moss and bark found north of Auckland, New Zealand. Featuring Pseudocyphellaria multifida, Hypogymnia, Parmotrema, Scaleworts. Bark designs such as Kauri, Pine and Manuka with specific significance to New Zealand's species.
I won an award for this artwork, placing second at the Waitakere art awards 2022.
Carefully pinned onto perspex, and encased in a clear acrylic box like a preserved museum specimen.
