Mount Taranaki or Mount Egmont (as I knew it), in New Plymouth, was the place that I grew up in. It holds a very special place for me, as I grew up around Taranaki with its wild beaches, black sand, wild surf, and the mountain was a place we ventured to often. This sculpture shows the intrinsic connection between the mountain, bush and the ocean.
