Marina di Chioggia 3D Thread Sculpture.

The textures and patterns blew me away when I saw the blue/grey knobbly skin of this type of heritage pumpkin.  This pumpkin variety originated in Italy, and I wanted to portray the importance of forgotten vegetables of the past with this sculpture.

Layer upon layer of tiny stitches make up a delicate network of sculpted knots using a large variety of fibres.

Professionally framed using a white boxed frame and museum grade glass. This offers ultimate clarity, with reduced reflection, and has 99% UV protection from the sun.

Measures: 44cm Height x 44cm Width x 4.5cm depth.
