This Tui sculptural embroidery was inspired by the iconic bird of our country. A very boisterous native to New Zealand, with its dazzling blue, green, and bronze plumage and distinctive white throat tuft, and gorgeous song. I am lucky enough to have plenty of these birds around my garden. Shown here with a leaf from the Kowhai tree, a favourite of the Tui for a succulent nectar source.
