These pieces are my sculptural embroidery versions of our unique Royal Albatross feathers found around the southern coastline of New Zealand. Studied from actual feathers from the Auckland museum's collection, I formed these feathers based on primary and secondary feathers of these huge birds.
Made up of hundreds and thousands of tiny stitches and sculpted onto pins.
