Kelp Fingers 3D Thread Sculpture.

This Kelp Fingers embroidery was inspired by an interesting piece of seaweed I found on a beach walk. I did some research and found the Kelp Fingers piece was an Ecklonia Kelp Holdfast, the base of the seaweed that holds itself onto the rocks. 

This Kelp Fingers sculptural embroidery is hand made in New Zealand.

Polyester/Rayon thread and glass pins on paper, and hand beaded clusters.

Professionally framed using a white boxed frame and high grade glass. This offers ultimate clarity, with reduced reflection, and has 99% UV protection from the sun.
