Whilst out running on a cold windy winters day, I came across masses of these fantastic Mahoe (melicytus ramiflorus) skeleton leaves, an endemic tree of New Zealand. I was inspired by the leaves delicate and fragile state at the last stages of its lifespan. This sculpture shows the network of veins that transport water and nutrients throughout the plant.
Professionally framed using a natural oak boxed frame and high grade museum glass. This offers ultimate clarity, with reduced reflection, and has 99% UV protection from the sun.
Size: 1.05m height x 71cm width x 4cm depth.
Framed and ready to be hung. Each artwork comes with its own signed certificate of authenticity.
***Note: This Mahoe Leaf skeleton sculpture won the Stuff Gold art award at the Christchurch art show 2024. ***
