This Yellow eyed penguin embroidery is totally handmade with love.
The Hoiho (yellow eyed penguin) is a threatened bird of New Zealand, uncommon to see, usually gulping down fish far out a sea, or hiding in the sand dunes at sunset. It is only found in the South Island. I have been lucky to photograph these secretive birds, whilst venturing around the wild beaches of Dunedin.
Each bird is carefully pinned to perspex, and encased in a clear perspex box, preserved like a museum specimen.
