This piece is my sculptural embroidery version of a species of lichen found north of Auckland. This species is the Ramalina celastri - Cartilage lichen, and is native to New Zealand.
Carefully pinned onto perspex, and encased in a clear acrylic box like a preserved museum specimen.
This measures:
Height: 12cm
Width: 9cm
Depth: 7cm.
Ready for hanging straight onto the wall. Each piece comes with its own certificate of authenticity.
