The Kina (evechinus chloroticus) is a sea urchin and is endemic to New Zealand. Traditionally eaten as a favoured food choice of the Maori, they are considered a delicacy in today's society. I love the shell's varied green shades, shapes and sizes and the incredible patterns. In this artwork features the intricate patterns of the limpet shell, and common brown seaweed of the upper North Island.
Professionally framed using a natural oak colour boxed frame and high grade glass. This offers ultimate clarity, with reduced reflection, and has 99% UV protection from the sun.
