Piwakawaka sculptural embroidery #2.

I was inspired by the unbelievably beautiful bird of New Zealand - the Piwakawaka or Fantail - a native bush bird, for this beautiful embroidery.

It is made up of hundreds of tiny stitches,  using a sewing machine, and finished by hand embroidery.

The embroidery is framed in a white box frame, and is mounted onto foam board.
